Beyond the black stump

Black stump: a notional place in the outback imagined as being the last outpost of civilization. (Oxford Dictionary)

In a square, in a dream. Some photos from last November’s outback trip from Brisbane to Charleville to Rockhampton and back. We travelled on this side of the black stump and beyond the black stump. We found it in Blackall, caught by a memory from a children’s book. It might have been a myth, it might have been true. Far away, after all.
