It is the morning that offers the most true encounter between you as a traveller and the foreign city. Everybody is still occupied with themselves: they wake up and start the day with rushed steps, lost in to-do lists for the day, it is their everyday and nothing more. No other tourists in sight. It is the morning that leaves room for interpretation on a white sheet of paper.
Everything can be written down in those early hours: the last day, the 3rd of September when my friends Melanie and Gal got married, what a wonderful wedding! And the plan what to do on the seven hour train trip back home: read more, write more. Ideas might suddenly appear like a new landscape out of the train window.
